Our next concert is on SATURDAY 24th MARCH 2012, but you can hear us in action at any time! As part of our Choral Development Initiative we recorded Rutter's much loved Requiem and a selection of his most popular anthems for a professional CD, which was released in September 2003. All pieces were beautifully accompanied by Surrey ProMusica. You can read a report of the recording session here and find out how you can order your copy. Sacred and Secular, our second CD, was recorded in April 2006, and copies are now available. Visit the Sacred and Secular web page to find out more about this CD. The latest news on the recording front is that we have just recorded our third CD. Entitled Christmas Classics, it contains a wide variety of seasonal music, so if you'd like a copy, simply print out an order form and send it to us with your payment. Copies will also be available to purchase at our next concert.
If you can't wait until our next concert to experience the thrill of live performance, why not see what other local groups are doing? We have a web page for other musical groups in the area, with links to their websites where available. For an at-a-glance guide to what's on, visit Bob Barnes' Classical Moments page on the Radio Redhill website for details of concerts in Reigate and the surrounding areas, or the Concert Diary website for details of performances happening both locally, nationally and even internationally.
The guide to our 2011/12 concert season can now be downloaded as a pdf file.
Saturday 24th March 2012
7.30p.m. at St Martin's Church, Dorking
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen, we are delighted to present this thrilling pogramme of British music. Walton's magnificent Crown Imperial opens the concert, followed by Bob Chilcott's new Requiem. By way of contrast we shall be performing John Rutter's A Sprig of Thyme suite, which is based on collected folksongs. The concert concludes with Handel's anthem Zadok The Priest, first performed at the coronation of George II in 1727 and heard at every coronation since.
Want to get to know the Chilcott before the concert? Listen to a recording of the London premiere via the Cadogan Hall website (click CH1 to enable streaming).

Reigate and Redhill Choral Society's first concert was in Redhill in 1942, and we can think of no better way to mark our 70th anniversary than with a Gala Concert featuring Haydn's Creation. From the blinding first light through primordial chaos to the arrival of mankind, Haydn's glorious work has proved perenially popular - just like RRCS!
If you would like to take part in these events, why not become a member of Reigate and Redhill Choral Society? Further details of our rehearsal schedule and how you can join are available on the How to join RRCS web page.
