Sacred and Secular

Following on from Rutter Reflections, Reigate and Redhill Choral Society's debut CD recorded in 2003, we recorded our second CD in April 2006. This CD is entitled Sacred and Secular, and is now available.

The repertoire on this CD is as follows:

Bob Chilcott: The Face of Peace (our 65th anniversary commission) and Be thou my vision(*)
Howard Goodall: The Lord is my Shepherd(*) and Nunc Dimittis(*) (Marlborough Canticles)
J. S. Bach: Jesu, joy of man's desiring
Mozart: Ave Verum Corpus
Haydn: Kyrie, Sanctus and Benedictus(*) from the Little Organ Mass
Wesley: Lead me Lord(*)
Lole: Jesu, the very thought of thee
Isom: King of all ages
Shephard: Song of Mary
Rutter: The Sprig of Thyme (excerpts)

Items marked (*) feature Nicola Wenman as the soprano soloist.

The CD was recorded in the magnificent chapel of Tonbridge School. Used by companies such as EMI and Naxos, Tonbridge School Chapel is regarded as one of the finest recording venues in the country due to location, acoustic properties and a 1995-built Marcussen organ.

Regent Records, who have extensive experience of working with a multitude of professional and amateur choirs and orchestras, undertook the recording.
